    Thumbs down experience

    1.We had never experienced this kind of holiday before and had no idea what to expect.
    A. happened B. spent C. known D. noticed
    the answer is "B. spent" not C. known" Am I correct? Thanks

    It's tricky. "Known" is closer to the semantic meaning of "experienced" as it's used here. But we don't say we "know a holiday".
    "Spend a holiday" is common. But "spent" doesn't carry the connotations of "experienced" that seems to be necessary to make the sentence mean what it does.
    But I'd put B. "spent".
