    connotations of "amenity"

    Dear teachers,

    Would you be kind enough to tell me whether I am on the right track by the interpretation of the expressions in bold in the following sentences?

    We have to provide the amenities for us.
    amenities = comforts

    A sweetness and amenity of temper.
    amenity = the quality of being pleasant or agreeable

    This climate has not seduced by its amenities.
    In amenity of life, his Court had been a Moorish rather than a Gothic Court.

    He feasted his eyes on the amenities of home life.
    Saying "thank you" is an amenity that should be taught to young children.
    He refused to indulge himself in the amenities of modern life.
    Every new district requires amenities such as schools, restaurants and a cinema.
    Her father devised to her an apartment with all modern amenities.
    Internet is among the amenities of modern life.
    I prefer the amenities of the famous resort to amenities of home life.
    She adored the amenity of the Californian climate.
