    what is the difference in usage between the word value and worth?

    They mean the same in monetary terms. If something is worth 10 euros, it's value is 10 euros.

    I think the OP might be after Oscar Wilde's distinction: knowing the price of everything, the value of nothing. In that case, price is a dollar amount, or euro, or pound, whereas value is more social, subjective, etc.
