    call the roll

    Hi

Is it what the teacher is saying at the beginning of the lesson: Now I'm going to call the roll.

Also: Is it all right to say I feel called to become a priest.

    thanks

Use "calling" if you want to say that someone feels that, or believes that, they have found out what they are really meant to do in life.

My calling is to become a priest.

I think saying "I'm going to take attendance" is more usual and typical, but I suppose there are teachers out there that say "I'm going to call the roll". It's possible to say "call the roll", but I think "take attendance" is much more usual and typical.
