correction of a few sentences 7

    Dear teachers,

Would you be kind enough to share with me your opinion concerning the feasibility of the following sentences?

I like opera music, and my roommate does too.
Snow is white, and clouds are too.
I can’t cook, and my roommate can’t either.
Squirrels have long tails, and cats do too.
Pasta is famous Italian dish, and so is pizza.
He acted as if he had never lived in England before.
The children ran away after they had broken the window.
As soon as the sun had set we returned to our hotel.
I had not understood the problem until he explained it.
He lived in Scotland fifteen years ago.
He had lived in Scotland for fifteen years before he came to England.
The police found Billy Wilkins last night. He had run away from home at once.
He had spent the last two nights near a farmhouse. The police took him home at once.
When she saw him, his mother burst into tears. She said he had never run away before.
He had no sooner returned than he bough a fine house.
He had hardly had time to settle down when he sold the house.
He had planned to settle down in the country.
He sold the house and left the country.

    Thank you for your efforts.

    Regards,

    V.

I like opera music, and so does my roommate.
(You would not say opera music. Try "listening to the opera" or "going to the opera" instead.)

Snow is white, and so are clouds.

I canít cook, and neither can my roommate.

Squirrels have long tails, and so do cats.

Pasta is famous Italian dish, and so is pizza.
    OK.

He acted as if he had never lived in England before.
    OK.

The children ran away after they broke the window.
    OK

As soon as the sun set, we returned to our hotel.
    OK

I had not understood the problem until he explained it.
    OK

He was living/ had been living in Scotland fifteen years ago.

He had lived in Scotland for fifteen years before he came to England.
    OK

The police found Billy Wilkins last night. He had run away from home at once.
The tense is correct but I don't like the use of "at once".

He had spent the last two nights near a farmhouse. The police took him home at once.
    OK

When she saw him, his mother burst into tears. She said he had never run away before.
    OK

He had no sooner returned than he bought a fine house.
    OK

He had hardly had time to settle down when he sold the house.
    OK

He had planned to settle down in the country.
    OK

He sold the house and left the country.
    OK

    Hi Elif,

Thank you for your kindness as well as for your amendments.

What is your view on usage of the adjective “operating” in the first sentence of my original post?

I like operating music, and so does my roommate.

To my mind it is the better reading?

Thank you again for your backing.

    Regards,

    V.

I don't see anything wrong with the structure of 'I like opera music, and my roommate does too'
