    Hi

This book is not of (the) best quality.

--- Should I use "the" or not? I know that sometimes we do not put "the" even in the superlative form.

I think you have no option but to use artcle 'the'. I checked a number of web pages to locate a case of zero article before a superlative form but no where could find a single case. Here are some sentences copied:
The accommodation is cheap but not of the best quality.
For the best of quality and pricing, please contact us.
I love this food but it is not the best for you.
Why is finding the Best Quality Dog Food, so important to pet owners?
Insurance is not always the best policy

I agree, it would be most unusual to find a superlative without the definite article.

    Hi

But I'm sure that I saw and heard people using superlative without the "the". Maybe it was wrong and maybe not, and maybe there is some rule that you don't always have to use it, i.e., "the" in the superlative.

    thanks

    Good morning teacher,

I would like to know if it is possible to heard people like Americans that do not use the definite article with the use of superlative ?

I always write the definite article but sometimes I believe the person take liberty with article, I am right?

    Thank.
