    Hello, is it possible to say: We shot a goal?

    Probably, but we seldom say that. We shoot, and sometimes, we score.

    [intransitive/transitive] in a sport, to throw or kick a ball in an attempt to score points
    - She shot the ball from the foul line and scored her first point.
    - He hasn't been shooting very well this season.

    [intransitive/transitive] to get a point in a game or sport
    - No one scored in the first half.
    score a goal/point/run:
    - He scored the first touchdown after five minutes.
