The girl was shivering with cold ...

    Hello.

    1. The girl was shivering with cold waiting at the bus stop.
    2. The girl was shaking with cold waiting at the bus stop.

I think that only #1 sound good. How do these two sound to you?

    Thank you.

"Shivering with cold" is more usual, but I have seen "Shaking with cold".

"shaking" and "cold" are most often used in a sentence of this type.............

......shaking with (or from) the cold.

The phrase "shivering with cold is much more common. The phrase "shaking with cold" is correct, and it sounds good. Though it does, of course, sound less typical.
