    3x Optical Zoom

This camera has a 3x optical zoom.
How do I say the sentence above? Is it like this:

    1. This camera has a 3 time optical zoom.
    or
    2. This camera has a 3 times optical zoom. (If this is okay why? 'time' is not an adjective?)
Which one do I use and why?

    Thanks.

  1. #2

you use #2 - this camera has a three times optical zoom.
I am not sure why but I do know that either it's a digital zoom or an optical one, the image is magnified certain amount of times so you can easily zoom in on the object.
Three times is an adjective and it describes the strength of the lens.
