    I need to know what "wedge-driving" means? My mother tongue is Arabic, please help!

    To "drive a wedge between" is to cause people to oppose one another or turn against one another. And for once, I'm completely at a loss for an example of how one would do that. Perhaps "Harry and I were poor as church mice, but happy together until my grandmother died and left me a small fortune. Her actions, although benevolent in intention, drove a wedge between us, as Harry could no longer afford to share the increased cost of things that I could now afford, and felt inadequate."
