    Red face Usage of Provide

    Hi,

    Is this correct in spoken English for Provide?

    Provide is not used by common people. As it is only the king who provides to the subjects or the government which, provides to the masses. Instead we use only, Give or That, we have the facility.

    I can provide you with many, MANY examples where this is simply not true.

    I'm not a teacher.

    Hi anupumh,

    Here are a few examples.

    He provided a car with a radio.

    There is no way that we can provide another teacher for that class.

    Has every member of the family been equally provided for?

    Steps can be taken to provide against a severe winter.

    In my plans for the journey, I have provided for possible accidents.

    He has a large family to provide for.

    His father provided him with a good education.

    I have to provide an excuse.

    How can anyone provide for unexpected events?

    These people have saved during their whole lives to provide for their old age.
