    Barking in front of your wife,
    parroting for your mother.

    i dont know the exact meaning of barking and also parroting for

    Barking is the dog's noise; it means saying bad things to criticize, in a mindless or automatic sense. Parroting for your mother means mindlessly repeating things for your mother. Not enough context is given to see just how pejorative these are in this case.
