    They and he

    Good afternoon,

I have just listen a podcats which the man who is speaking sometimes uses the words 'he' and 'they' when he talks about one person who he does not know the gender.

Is it a habit to use 'they' to speak about one person?

    Thank for your replies.

    See you soon.

They cannot be used for a single person, they can be used for a group...

    Some corrections..

    Hi Mr.Anupumh,

Thanks for your corrections (I need it).

About the use of the word 'they' instead of 'he' I am sure at ninety-nine per cent that Americans people use it, maybe I'm wrong but I hope one American teacher can confirm my opinion.

    See you soon.

If its one correction then you need it, but when there are corrections (more than one) then you need them...
