    Could or should, or both are right?

    1--The doctor suggested last year that you should not sit before your computer more than 3 hours daily.
    2--The doctor suggested last year that you could not sit before your computer more than 3 hours daily.

    I know the first sentence is correct. However, someone says the second one is correct as well. I doubt it. Any native speaker can help give your opinion? Thank you.

    Hello jiaruchan

    The second one works but expresses a different meaning.

    1--The doctor suggested last year that you should not sit before your computer for more than 3 hours daily.
    <you should never do it>

    2--The doctor suggested last year that you could not sit before your computer for more than 3 hours daily.
    <you were not able to do it at that time>.
