    Attachment grammer

We are having an argument here at work about proper wording when sending an attachement in an email.

    We usually use the following

Ex: Attached is the quote you requested or Attached is more information on our company.

We have an employee who feels we should state the following

Ex: Please find here-with an attachement

    Please help

    Re: Attachment grammer

There is NO reason in the world to use "herewith" (which I know as a single word, not a hyphen). It's overly formal and doesn't add any meaning.

"Attached is..." is a very, very common way to say this, although "Please find attached the quote you requested..." is also very common and a bit more polite.

May I also suggest something like "Thank you for your inquiry regarding... The requested information is attached."

Thank you for your post. I believe her issue was that since it is not attached by a paper clip or staple you can not say attached. Although I did try to explain that from email standards it is attached. Rather bull headed and does not want to admit she is wrong.

Oh, I wouldn't know anything about THAT!
