    Hurt - present continuous?

    Hello,

When reading books I always read: "It hurts" and never "It is hurting".

Is the second form (present continuous) wrong or it doesn't matter?

    Thank you for your answer.

    Thank you for your answer.
With proper context, you can use the cotinuous form. Here are a few examples:

My knee was hit against the wall some time back but now it is hurting me
The global recession may not be hurting many of the Indians due the dropped currency rates but it is certainly hurting the unemployed youth.
This might sound like a drama but it is true and it is really hurting me.
