    Re: get hairy

When something "gets hairy" it means the situation is getting rough, difficult, frightening or complicated.

"Things got a bit hairy on my way home last night; I swerved my car to avoid hitting a dog and ran into a telephone pole. The pole fell over and squashed the roof of my car."

    Re: get hairy

    I’m not a teacher.

    Hi The French,

Here is my speculation concerning the matter in question:

things are a wee bit hairy up here = things are looking pretty hot

    Regards,

    V.
