    it jarred my vision

    Hello,

I am a little confused about the word "jarred" in the text bellow. I have tried the definitions I know but none of them fit in the context. My question is: The words jar and blur are syninimous in the bold-faced sentence below?

"A hammering of boots in the hall matched my heartbeat, so forceful it jarred my vision, and then the front door flew directly at me, knocked from the hinges and dead bolt as if a hurricane had hit the other side."

Please, correct any mistake I made.

    Thanks.

Yes, you could say that they are synonymous there.
