    embassy

    Hello teachers,

I have a question regarding the mentioned word in the title.

Is there any difference between a high commission, a consulate and an embassy?
Do they have the same function? If they don't, could you please explain to me about their differences?

    Thank you.

    Re: embassy

A high commission is an embassy of one British Commonwealth country to another.

A consulate is subordinate to an embassy. The embassy is usually in a foreign country's capital city and consulates are in other large cities in that country.
