I found a sentance but do not know if it is correct:
Above all it was highlights in medical research that ...
I thought it has to be
Above all it were highlights in medical research that ...
is that correct?
i thougt that was is for singular and were is for plural -->
highlights is plural --> due to this I thought that "above all it were" would be correct
here the complete sentence:
Above all it was highlights in medical research that provides us today with the knowledge we have about ourerselfs.

just as highlights is plural and the use of plural + was confused me ..
I don't understand why "it was highlights" is correct.
I think it should be put in passive "it was highlighted"
