    enquire or confirm

When we want to check our names with someone else after being told that our names are not in the list should we use 'enquire' or 'confirm'.

    1. i would like to confirm with you whether my name is on the list.
    2. i would like to enquire my name if it is with the the teacher.

    thanks

    1. I would like to confirm with you that my name is on the list. Use when your name is on the list and you want to be sure the person is aware of this.

    2. I would like to enquire if/whether my name if it is with the teacher. Use if you are not sure that your name is included in the list.

    thanks
