    Is this sentence correct?

    1) He went to the back to check if the money has been deposited and found out that it has not been deposited.

    The verb tense is wrong. It should be "had" instead of "has."

    That's because the deposit took place (or failed to occur) before all this going to the back happened.

    He went to the back to check if the money had been deposited and found out that it had not been deposited.
