    something about baseball

Hi. I don't know anything about baseball game and therefore I could not understand the underlined parts of the following sentence.

"Come the last half of the inning it didn't look like he would get to bat again but the Marauders got a coupla men on and he comes up with two outs and the tying runs on."

This guy tries to lose the game. Could you please explain those in a simple and general way without details as it is a complicated game?
    Thanks in advance.

In the end of the game, it was the batter's turn to hit. There were 2 men on base (with the potential of scoring 2 runs, which would tie the game). There are also 2 outs. So, one more out, and they would lose the game.

    Does that help?
