    Question meaning

What is the meaning of "odd words?" I read a sentence "Which word is the odd one out?" I have tried to look up it in the dictionary. There are several meanings, i.e. unconnected, peculiar/strange... etc.

Let me guess. The sentence means that I have to find a word which is not connected with others.

Odd words = words that are peculiar ... is the meaning right?

    Re: meaning

The odd one out is the one that doesn't belong. For example,
    • gentle
    • gem
    • giant
    • gather

The word gather is the odd one out. It starts with a hard /g/ sound. The others start with a soft /g/ sound.

Here's another. Which word is the odd one out?

    • trade mark
    • brand
    • factory
    • logo

And another. Which number is the odd one out?

    • 67
    • 32
    • 94
    • 58
