    let alone (able to) mount

    Opposition parties face a daunting task recruiting credible candidates to join them, let alone able to mount a formidable challenge to the ruling party during the elections.

    Should it be 'let alone mount' instead?

    Thanks in advance.

    I would change it to "let alone mounting" to make a parallelism with 'recruiting'.
    They have enough trouble recruiting ... let alone mounting ...
    Otherwise "let alone being able to mount ..."
