    Golden

Can you use the word golden in this sentence?

"It's golden!" - referring to a billiards shot?

Or would the proper way to say it is, "It's a golden shot!"?
Golden is an adjective and doesn't seem to fit in that sentence.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you,

    Ned

As a slang term, it is probably better left in an exclamation.

It sounds hopelessly pedantic to corral a slang exclamation into a neat -- and pedestrian -- sentence.

There's no advantage, either. Not one single piece of information is added by the second sentence. It serves only to dull down the spontaneity of the first one, without adding a thing.
