    The following sentences are disussing the use of glass. My question is if the following sentence indicates the possible future use of glass or not.

    The uses of this adaptable material have been broadened dramatically by new techonologies: glass fibre optics, glass ceamics ..... .. On the horizon are optical computers. These could store programs and process information by means of light...
