    Lightbulb You are belittling me

    Hi,

    Is this sentence appropriate?

By saying this, you are belittling me.

    Thanks

    Re: You are belittling me

Whether the sentence is appropriate depends on its context; but I think it's grammatically correct.

Is the usage of "belittling" appropriate? Is the sentence sematically accurate?

    Re: You are belittling me

In order to answer that question we would have to know what the person said.

For example, he said "you have no earning"

    Re: You are belittling me

I don't think "you have no earning" is something one would say; "you have no earnings" seems more probable to me. In my view, such a remark would not equate to belittling someone.

I think "You have no earning power" in other words you can't earn very much money, could be said to be belittling.
