    Is this expression ok?
    "The waxy surface of the cotton is broken down with a solution of lemon juice and other components in order to get it ready for being dye"

    It's better like this:
    "The waxy surface of the cotton is broken down with a solution of lemon juice and other components in order to get it ready to be dyed."
