    have a wash

    Is that true that the British never say I washed myself or I washed but I had a wash?!

    AFAIK they don't. They normally say have a wash in general sense but they do use wash as a verb when they want to name a specific part of the body such as Wash your hands before you start eating.. I wash my hair three times a week.
