would you please clarify my doubt in below sentences
1. she was afraid of snake
2. she was found a needle inside the book
I had seen in book First sentence is correct, but sentence is incorrect because of using was in 2nd sentence. why? please give the solution. am waiting for reply in advance
The second one is incorrect because here one needs to use the present perfect: She has found a needle inside the book. In English, the present perfect tense is always constructed with the auxiliary verb "have".
Observe that in the first sentence the verb is only was, which is the past tense of be. The word afraid is an adjective: She was afraid of snake. In the second sentence we have a composed verb: has found - here found is the past participle inflection of find: She has found a needle inside the book.
