    role of honor

    Dear all,

I'm a big fan of horse races, so I was really excited to see Sea The Stars win the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe. I saw the race on Youtube, and in the video, the anchor said "He (Sea The Stars) goes into the role of honor beside Ribot, Sea Bird, Dancing Brave, Mill Reef.. A geat performance."

Could anyone tell me what "the role of honor" means? I'm not 100 percent sure if he really said so. It might be anothe expression.

    Thank you!

The term is "roll of honor". It's pronounced the same.
You can do a search and get plenty of examples of what a "roll of honor" is.
