The value of pi upto 5 decimal places equals to 3.14159...

Should "pi" be capitalized, and isn't "upto" two words, not one? As for "equals", what is the rationale?

One can write "pi" as "Pi", mostly the symbol is used π

How would write this in a sentence "pi = 3.141592"?
