    handphone

Is 'handphone' a recognised word for cellphone? I have seen the word in a grammar book and wonder whether it actually exists.

    Thanks in advance.

    Re: handphone

I've never encountered that word before. Cell, cell phone or (in Europe) mobile are common; I've even seen "handy" used in Asia. But so far, never "handphone"

"Handy" is the term used in Germany, I have never seen "handphone" either.
