    Word order

    Dear all,

    1. In my hometown, hardly anyone spoke English fluently.
    2. In my hometown, anyone hardly spoke English fluently.

I know #1 is fine, but what about #2? It looks odd, but I'm not sure if it's wrong.

    Thank you

    OP
