    Is this a correct sentence?

    Two women in similar situations brought about because they have catered too often to the people around them.

    Why the semi-colon? I would have put a comma, since the remainder of the sentence gives information about the situations.

    (I'm certainly willing to admit my instinct was wrong, but I can't make sense of the semi-colon.)

    You are right Barb, I tried a comma and for some reason it didn't quite seem enough, but on reflection the semi-colon is not right.
