Are these words pronounced the same? do they have the same vowel sound?

    Re: From/hot/body

In my midwestern American accent, the o's in 'hot body' are pronounced /a/ or /a:/, while the 'o' in 'from' is pronounced /ə/ (or actually, its stressed equivalent, whose character I am not able to conjure up at the moment).

I am aware however, that BrE pronunciation differs significantly from this, and there are likely to be many other dialectical differences.

    In BrE, they're the same.
