    How do I say...

    Hello:

My father donated money (full cost) to build a temple. So how do I say that correctly?

    1) My father sponsored to build the temple.
    2) My father founded the temple.
    3) My father is a philanthropist and donated money to build a temple.

I am not sure how to say this correctly. Please help.

    Thank you in advance!

    Thank you svartnik!

But is there a word to describe such people who financially support to build temples/churches/monuments?
