    It is getting_________

    Hello, teachers:
I am not sure what the answer about the sentence below.
it's getting____________.(1) dark and dark (B) dark and darker (C) darker and darker.
I think the answer is (C).
My question is that do I have to use comparative form behind the term "getting".
May I say getting + basic form? (I remember seeing that form, but I am nto so sure.)
    May I have your confirmation?
    Thanks a lot!

I thnk the answer is (C). You are correct.
My question is that do I have to use comparative form behind the term "getting". You don't have to use the comparative form if you just say "It's getting dark." But you have to use it in "It's getting darker and darker."

May I say getting + basci form? (I remember seeing that form, but I am nto so sure.)
