    PP or PS

    Dear teachers,
Could you advise me which tense I should use in this sentence, the Present Perfect tense or the Simple Past one?

There havenít been many who have really survived a few days without food, sleep or company.

Thank you in advance for your kind help.

Few people have survived even for a few days without food, sleep and companionship.

I think present perfect is correct, this sentence is talking about a result of something up to now.
