    Worthy of Dorothy Parker

Retorts, ripostes ...and just plain, good old come-back lines:

The Queen was on holiday at Balmoral, and went on her own down to the local village shop to buy something. Whilst she was being served, a tourist from another part of the UK said to her, "You know, you look just like the Queen."

    The Queen replied, "How reassuring."

Just something that might make you smile, which is a good way to start the day.

Thanks for the joke! It was hilarious. But was it all? Are you sure the tail end is not missing? I forgot to laugh. To draw a parallel: Welcome back David L.! Does it reassure you?
Why is that apparent dual role on your part? Excalibur or David? Which do you prefer?
You see, this is funny! You had me in stitches. Bruhaha

Now, that is NOT reassuring!...to suddenly be told, 'you know, you're not yourself."

I did a search of the name. Too many posts to go through. Is the reference to do with his having a sense of humour?

The short time I've visited so far, it's a commodity in short supply here.

    Interesting.
So you're not actually denying that you're David L. - or rather, that you are the same person who in the past has used the nickname David L.

I don't think svartnik was referring to the similarity in sense of humour.
Here's one similarity that I find most interesting. You will not admit that you have been wrong about something. You will either launch into a torrent of abuse or you will simply leave that thread quietly and turn up somewhere else. (You've done both already).
You will then project your insecurities onto someone else by labelling them as "thinking they are infallible" or some such, as you did to me in a recent thread.

Time will tell, and dissimilation will out.
