    The game of throwing horseshoes. A close throw scores points.

    But in other things, in real life, "almost good" is not good enough.

    the phrase in its entirety is almost is only good in horseshoes and hand grenades.
    Horse shoes indicating partial points and hand grenades still kill when you do not hit your target. However, in real life almost is still a loss
