    hot date

    Hello,

I've got a hot date tonight.

What exactly does hot date mean? Does it mean they will sleep with each other? Thanks.

No, it's less concrete than that. It just means attractive, exciting, or important.

kon's right, though I'd exclude 'important'.
To me, a 'hot date' implies sexuality of some level (or the prospect of it).

    Re: hot date

Encolpius, given the definitions above, do you think a date could be both hot and blind?

I didn't get the point, Ray.

    Re: hot date

My understanding was a hot date was with such a pretty girl that it was a particularly worthwhile engagement, something you wouldn't cancel without reason.

I guess an important date doesn't necessarily mean a 'hot date'. For example, if you have a date with your girlfriend to meet her parents, that's not necessarily a hot date, no matter how important it is.
So, "importance" by itself doesn't imply hotness (or heat!).

I suppose some people might say that if you know the girl well enough to be visiting her parents, then you wouldn't describe any date with her as a 'hot date', since there might be an implication in this term of someone new.
Can you have a hot date with your wife?
