    Question Only One Question

Question: How long ...? (ask a question)
Answer: To work, about 20 minutes by car.

By the way, I tried many answers such as How long does take to reach (get to) work by car? However, all my answers were incorrect.

    Thanks a million in advance

Who said all your answers were incorrect?

How long does it take you to get to work?
I don't know why the answerer is saying "To work, "
Maybe the question is "How long does it take you to get here?" and there is part of the context missing.

    Not a teacher.
I think the situation here is a person ask his/her neighbor, maybe the question is 'How long does it take to go to somewhere (he/ she want to get there) and by the way where are you going?'

    Re: Only One Question

The question was quoted from a test intended for elementary school.
Here is the link Question 23

    Re: Only One Question

    What a crazy test!

In the part that tells you to put them in the right order, there are numerous possibilities. Apparently I chose the wrong ones, because I got only 19 answers right.

What sort of question do they expect for the broken leg question? And why is "Do they smoke at work" incorrect? (Intermediate). And that #23... what could they be thinking?

    This is nuts.
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.

    The correct answer is:
How long does it take you to get to work by car?
How did she break her leg?

    Re: Only One Question

How is "How did she break her leg?" answered with "She's broken her leg"?

Or for that matter "Mary's gone home" is an answer to what? Why... Why isn't Mary here? Why has Mary left?

    Re: Only One Question

How about: "How long is your commute?"
