Is "Did you game me the money?" correct?

    Hi all,

I have a quick question to the english natives.
What is the most correct form:

"Did you give me the money?" - past simple
"Did you gave me the money?" - past perfect (?) (or doubling the "past tense"??)

Grammatically I think the first is correct... but, and I'm no native speaker, the former also seems correct to me. at least in a more practical and day-to-day way...

So, can someone point me in the right way?
    Thanks!

"Did you give me the money?"
"Did you gave me the money?" There's no such thing.

Only "Did you give me" is correct.

The verb "to do" is the one that changes in number and tense. The main verb in the sentence (in this case "to give") stays in its infinitive form without the "to."

Does he know her? (Not: Does he knows her?)
Did you give it to me already? (Not: Did you gave it to me already?)
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
