    on / off

    Are these sentences correct?

    He made it to the league on good looks.

    He made it to the league off good looks.

    I'm guessing that using "off" as it is used in the second sentence is slang, but I'm not sure.

    Yes, although I've heard it as "...off his good looks" or "...off of his...."
