    Question Grammar

Could anyone please explain me why 'He makes sure not to fall sick' is wrong as the correct usage must be 'he takes care not to fall sick'.

'Her parents got killed in communal riots',why is the usage of got wrong here as it indicates that they were killed.

They "got killed" is not wrong. It's good [sometimes] informal English.
To "make sure not to do" something is good, standard English (at least in North America).

Although you will hear constuctions like "got killed" it is not really correct, the correct uses of the verb "to get" are to replace "obtain", "receive" and "become". There is a perfectly good verb which is appropriate here, the verb "to be", "his parents were killed..."

It is very difficult to "make sure not to fall sick" the most you can hope for is to "take care that it doesn't happen". So "He takes care not to fall sick" is correct.
