Kinldy check the sentence and explian

History does repeat, it was witnessed at the Ireland and France football match, where Thierry Henry of France single-handedly helped France to qualify for next year world cup. It reminisce us of Mardona, ‘Hand of god’.
Kindly check the sentence and also tell me,
It was witnessed or it had been witnessed or it have ben witnessed...which is appropriate.
I always get confused for the right tense usage.
    Regards,

    Regards,
This is how I would correct your sentence. You could also use the Past Perfect Simple as it had been witnessed.
    Hope I have helpful.

I'm not sure about the very last part. Mardon's "Hand of God"? (Not a big football fan.)

You can say either it reminds us of... or it is reminiscent of...
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
