    Figure out, Solve and Fix

    Hi teachers,

I'd like to know how to use figure out, I always hear people say "to figure out the problem", is it same as "to solve the problem" or "to fix the problem"? Please advise! Thanks a lot!

Re: Figure out, Solve and Fix

    I would more say:
"Try to find out where the problem is."
The machine does not work, figure it out!
Think about it and search for a solution!

"Solve" and "fix" seem to be a "level" higher in my opinion.
After you figure it out, you can fix/solve it.

    But I'm not a teacher...
