    Re: which is right?

    Hello katelopezdee

The answer is lights brighten. The reason being, subject-verb agreement: the subject must agree in number with its verb:

    • plural noun: lights/they
    • plural verb: brighten

    • singular noun: light/it
    • plural verb: brightens

Ex: It brightens up my day.
Ex: They brighten up my day.

This is odd. I'm sure you know the difference. I'm interested in knowing why you were unsure.
